ROGER BUTTERLEY (Composer) is a musician at home in both Rock and Theatre. In the Rock world he has worked with artists ranging from Michael McDonald and Phoebe Snow, to Gavin DeGraw and Jill Sobule, and has appeared on more than 20 albums including most recently Phoebe Snow Live on Verve Records.
In theatre, he has a longstanding relationship with Sh-K-Boom Records having Music Directed many of the Sh-K-Boom Room concert series, as well as Music Directing and Co-Producing the CD of Paul Scott Goodman’s Bright Lights, Big City. As a Music Director and Arranger Roger worked on more than 50 productions across the country including The Who’s Tommy at Bay Street Theatre, Rooms at the New York Music Theatre Festival, and Tiny Dancer at Philadelphia’s Prince Music Theatre.
As a composer, he has written two full length musicals in addition to Fallen Angel, Eagle Song with Justin Murphy, and Turandot: The Rumble For The Ring with Randy Weiner (The Donkey Show) and Director Diane Paulus (current Broadway revival of Hair). Roger has also composed music for commercials and industrials for clients including Avis, Symbol Technologies, and Chase Manhattan. He recently completed music for a new ride at Hershey Park, “The Reese’s Extreme Cup Challenge”.
Roger can be seen Conducting and playing Guitar for Breaking Up Is Hard To Do in Branson, MO nightly and all across the country with Phoebe Snow.
JUSTIN MURPHY (Lyricist, Composer, and Book), a native of Jacksonville, Florida, is the founder of OMEGA Theatre Productions. Under the company he has produced two highly successful regional productions of Jesus Christ Superstar. An entrepreneur since the age of 16, he has written and published historical magazines in national distribution, and holds a BFA in Communications from Jacksonville University. Justin has also written, animated, and produced commercials for Citizen Watch, MTV, Bravo, and other networks, and worked on numerous Amusement Park rides and Attractions as a writer and artist for Sally Industries. In addition to Fallen Angel, he has written another musical with Roger Butterley, Eagle Song released on CD in 2000 featuring Jamie Lynn Sigler of HBO’s The Sopranos. Justin recently completed his first graphic novel, Cleburne for which he received the prestigious 2008 Xeric Award, and is currently developing it as a major motion picture.
